The Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, has criticized a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, over a statement credited to him about a suspected Fulani warlord, Isikilu Wakili.
The Chairman of OPC in Oyo State, Rotimi Oguntade, challenged Fani Kayode to produce the real Fulani warlord, following claims by the former Minister that the man captured was not the wanted Wakili.
Oguntade, who said Fani Kayode’s claim was false and misleading, cautioned the former Minister against trying to cause disunity in the Southwest region.
Oguntade further described Fani Kayode as a spokesperson of any politician that is ready to feather his nest.
Earlier, Fani Kayode had alleged that Wakili was still at large and killing innocent people. The former Minister opined that Wakili is the most notorious, dangerous and bloodthirsty terrorist in the Southwest.
According to Fani Kayode, Wakili is still the leading mafia don, a brutal, cold-blooded rapist and killer. He added that the suspected Fulani warlord had brought torment and carnage to the South West people.
However, he called on Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho to support and assist the Nigerian Police Force intelligence agencies in locating Wakili and bringing him to justice.
Everyevery.ng had reported that the Oyo State police command gave an update on the arrested suspected Waklili. The Police Command said it found no evidence against Wakili.
According to the Oyo state Police Spokesperson, Olugbenga Fadeyi, the suspected Fulani warlord is still in police custody.
Meanwhile, Fadeyi said the investigation is yet to commence on the accusations because they are mere allegations with no evidence.
The Police image maker advised people to come and make an official statement at the state Criminal Investigation Department for police to commence the investigation to determine if all the allegations against Wakili are true.
