The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has launched an Adire textile factory as part of the mission of the 2021 Aje Festival.
Oba Ogunwusi said the Ooni Adire Fashion Textile Factory has a mandate of supporting, uplifting and equipping emerging young entrepreneurs with more excellent knowledge of Adire.
The Monarch reiterated his commitment towards creating textile industrialization that is fit for purpose, integrating a new cultural textile economy that speaks to the heart of Made in Nigeria.
He said the factory would also provide significant values for innovative Adire business models using modern technology inherent in young populations.
However, Oba Adeyeye opined that deep belief in vibrant young populations in Nigeria and Africa remains his Royal mission’s epitome.
The Ooni, who described youths as his greatest asset, vowed to be a part of their success stories to create economic mobility and accessibility through the Fashion Textile Factory.
The Monarch added that he had observed the rich resilience, entrepreneurial spirit, creative fineness, and deep-rooted aspirations among the Nigerian youths.
Meanwhile, the Ooni has described the Aje Festival celebration as one of the significant obligations of preserving and upholding the Yorubaland’s sacred heritage.
According to him, the Aje Festival tells of the economic pre-eminence and rich inheritance Yoruba dispensed into a world civilization.
He opined that Aje is a deity of wealth and economic prosperity that positively influences the world’s economy.
