Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed the reason behind his team’s recent poor form. The manager said the players had been affected by the fan protests about the club’s ownership, which happened some weeks back. Last week, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side was beaten by Leicester and Liverpool in the space of three days. The manager also complained about the congested fixture.
Manchester United’s players spent hours in the stadium to the point that beds were delivered to rest ahead of the Liverpool game, which never held due to the protest. The manager said: “I didn’t want to use it as an excuse because we lost two games, but surely it’s the reason behind the performances.” He also said: ‘Physically, it’s impossible to play at the intensity that’s required because of the number of games.
Then you look at the preparation in between, and we haven’t had the recovery and the same routine as we normally would, and we haven’t done the tactical preparation.”Manchester United are left with just three games in the season, two in the English Premier League and Europa League final, which will be played on the 26th of this month.
The first game will be against Fulham, and a win will cement their runners-up status. Ole will not deploy his entire team in the second game if they win the Fulham game, which will help them prepare well for the Europa final with Villarreal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also hopes the return of fans will bring some positivity back to the club.
