“Ambode Warned Us”, Nigerians React To Arrest At Lekki Toll Gate

Reactions are still pouring in over the arrest of peaceful protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on Saturday as many Twitter users reminisce over the warning issued by a former Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

Everyevery.ng gathered that many of the Occupy Lekki Toll Gate protesters were arrested following a warning by both the Federal government and the Lagos state government.

In a Twitter trend, many users on the social media app posted a video of when Ambode warned against electing Babajide Sanwooolu as the Lagos state governor during the 2019 general elections.

Meanwhile, Reno Omokri has reacted to the arrest of protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.

According to Omokri, peaceful protesters demanding justice are being arrested by the same government that defends killer herdsmen. 

The former presidential spokesman opined that Nigeria has criminalised peace and decriminalised violence as he further recalled how the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed justified why herdsmen should carry AK47.

Arrest At Lekki Toll Gate

Earlier, Omokri had accused President Muhammadu Buhari of sending the wrong message to Nigerian youths. By arresting peaceful protesters, despite rehabilitating repentant Boko Haram members and negotiating with bandits.

Also, a former Lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani in his reaction described the peaceful protest as a fundamental right.
