Atiku Urges President Buhari To Address Nigerians
Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar has raised eyebrows over the decision of the federal government to increase electricity tariff and fuel pump price in the country.
In a tweet on Thursday, Atiku stated that he rejected the increased electricity tariffs.
According to him, Nigerians need a stimulus, not an impetuous disregard for the challenges they face given the fact that the lockdown is gradually been lifted.
Atiku, who stated that many Nigerians have not earned an income for months, due to no fault of theirs, however, added that the increment is ill-timed and ill-advised.
Everyevery.ng had earlier reported that the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC) said the price of petrol has been increased to N151.56k per litre.
PPMC, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC said the new price of Premium Motor Spirit takes effect from September 2, 2020 (Read more here).
Meanwhile, the All Progressive Congress in a statement by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena has tackled the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over the party’s comment over the newly announced pump price.
The APC stated that the reviewed petroleum products pricing template has resulted in a more transparent, efficient and realistic pricing system for petroleum products and also resulted in a constant availability of fuel nationwide.
