A brave Nigerian Soldier has paid the ultimate price trying to protect a community named Nyuwar in Gombe State.
In an attempt to prevent some communal clashes among neighbouring communities in the region, the soldier was caught in a crossfire and eventually gave up the ghost.
Reports revealed that there were series of hostilities dominating several communities around and within the Gombe and Adamawa axis, precisely in the North-Eastern parts of the country.
The tragic incident that cost the officer’s life occurred yesterday as someone who witness the event earlier reported that a soldier had been injured, without knowing that it would eventually lead to his death.
He recalled that a similar attack came from the neighbouring Waja Community, invading Nyuwar and Jessu in April last year.
Meanwhile, it was also gathered that even when the soldier was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment, the attack on the community continued unabated as the combine team of security operatives stationed in the community was reportedly outnumbered by the attackers.
