Nigeria Football Federation NFF has revealed that they have not sacked Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr, amid reports that they have sacked the Franco-German. Several reports on social media on Thursday stated that the German tactician was fired.
According to reports, it was said that the Super Eagles game has dropped, and so a change was needed, but Nigeria football governing body said they had not sacked him. Gernot Rohr also came out to say he was not sacked, at least not yet. He said they were forcing him to resign, which he refused.
Assistant Director, Media, Ademola Olajire, said he was not aware of Rohr’s sacking. He also said that such a decision would be taken only after a board meeting has been held by them and a signed statement was released to confirm the sack. He also said: “I’m not aware of Rohr’s sack because there are procedures for doing things at the federation.”
“Before such a decision could be taken, there will be a meeting of the Nigeria Football Federation board and a release issued to the public. “As for now, I’m not aware of the sack. The online platform you claimed reported the story cannot announce his sack without confirmation from the NFF.”
