Mohammed said though the government is avoiding the implications of another lockdown, he, however, stated that it may fall back on it as its only resort if the situation warrants the decision.

He further revealed that the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 in Nigeria may recommend another lockdown to the government after its next meeting.

The Minister stressed that the Federal Government will not hesitate in giving the directive if it is the only way Nigerians can be protected from the agony of the new wave of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Mohammed urged Nigerians to heed the advice of the PTF on hygiene and social distancing, especially in this festive season.
