Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has told one Nigerian and Lille’s attacker Victor Osimhen not to accept bench role at any club, the player has been linked with a move to over three clubs in Europe. He has a big opportunity of leaving the French Ligue One side in the next transfer season.
Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr insists that no matter the club the Lille striker goes to he should not accept the bench role if he is fit. Victor Osimhen’s market value was dropped by the Lille club president and the likes of Italian side Napoli, and a couple of clubs in England are also coming the player. Liverpool, Arsenal and Leicester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are all looking to sign the 21-year old attacker
Osimhen, who scored 18 goals in his debut campaign in Ligue 1 has attracted interest from even Tottenham Hotspur, clubs in Spain are also interested in the 21-year-old. Gernot Rohr said: “Victor Osimhen will have a very big opportunity to go to the Premier League or Italy to a very big club.” “This is a success for him, but also for the Super Eagles.” “If we have players playing at the high-level clubs, our level in the Super Eagles will also grow.”
Gernot Rohr also said that Osimhen must be playing regularly wherever he finds himself. “If he is not playing, it won’t be good for him as a young player because a young player has to be playing to progress,” he added.
