Napoli head coach Gennaro Gattuso is set to sacked by the club after failing to help the Seria A side level up the league. The club’s owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is considering five persons already to take the job from the Italian international.
Napoli currently sits in the fifth-place position three points behind fourth-placed Atalanta in the Italian Serie A table although they still have a game at hand.
They were eliminated from the Europa League and Coppa Italia which has made the relationship between Gennaro Gattuso and Aurelio De Laurentiis not cordial again.
The former AC Milan player and coach will leave the club by the end of the season when his contract expires. Former Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez and Maurizio Sarri have been tipped to take the job by De Laurentiis.
Sari had earlier rejected an offer to return to Napoli in January. Also on the list are Hellas Verona’s Ivan Juric, Sassuolo’s Roberto De Zerbi and Spezia’s Vincenzo Italiano.
