RB Leipzig Welcomes Atletico Madrid in Champions League Quarter-finals

A spot in the Champions League semis will be at stake when German side RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid of Spain face each other at Estadio da Luz on Thursday evening. The Champions League has been changed due to the coronavirus pandemic it will be only one leg and no return legs.

The two teams meet in a one-legged tie, and, no doubt, both sides are likely to adopt a cautious approach in the quarter-final clash. The Red Bulls Leipzig proved their worth in back-to-back wins over English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, but beating Diego Simeone’s side won’t be an easy task. A man to keep an eye on in the Bundesliga team will be Chelsea new signing Timo Werner, who was scoring goals for fun in the national championship last season.

Los Rojiblancos, on the other hand, did well to claim a major scalp in the Champions League last 16, with the team beating Liverpool in a double-header. The La Liga side are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence, and even though two Atletico players were tested positive for coronavirus before the match, we predict that Diego Simeone’s troops will hold Leipzig to a draw.
