Sky Bet English Championship champions Leeds United’s manager Marcelo Bielsa has extended his contract with the club by one year extra, the manager confirmed this and agreed to continue as Leeds United manager until the end of English Premier League 2020/21 season. The 65-year-old’s contract expired at the end of last season after he led Leeds back to the Premier League.
The Argentinean said on Thursday he had agreed on a new deal with the Whites now confirming the contract which runs until the end of the season. Leed United who won just concluded the first game in the top-flight after a 16-year absence is against champions Liverpool on Saturday. Bielsa joined the club on a two-year deal with the option of a third year, in June 2018.
Leeds missed out on promotion in his first year in charge, losing to Derby County in the Championship play-off semi-finals, but finished 10 points clear of West Brom to win last season’s title. But since he was able to promote the team to the English Premier League, it was only fitting to be awarded a new contract. The manager has signed new players to club to help the club stand in the English Premier League which starts in few days time.
