Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, has pointed Nigerians’ attention to the suspicion that the 2022 Abuja-Kaduna Train bombing incident was carried out by a combination of the Boko Haram terrorists and bandits.
The Minister stated this during a press briefing at the State House, in Abua, along with the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi, retired, at the end of the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Federal Government, FG blamed the devastating attack on the unholy alliance between Boko Haram insurgents and rampaging terrorists.
According to Lai Mohammed, the new position of the government regarding the issue emanated from the blame games being played by the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, noting that the Buhari-led administration pretended not to notice the multiple killings ongoing in various parts of the country.
Also, it was pointed out that the House of Representatives, during their plenary, called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency, seeing how innocent Nigerians have been paying the ultimate price with their lives without hope of the killings coming to an immediate end.
On the same issue, the members of representatives demanded the swift resignation or sack of the National Security Adviser, NSA, Major-General Babagana Monguno, retired, as well as the Minister of Defence, Major-General Bashir Magashi, also retired.
