Lawmakers Endorse Yahaya Bello For 2023 Presidency
Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has on Tuesday revealed that the EndSARS protests and the looting of palliatives from COVID-19 warehouses are about the 2023 general elections. He made this known during an interview on Channels Television.
According to the governor, a few individuals are setting certain agenda for 2023. However, he called on youths to leave the streets and return home to avoid being used by politicians. He said the EndSARS protesters were insincere as they refused to leave the streets even after the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu had disbanded the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the police.
Bello, who refused to mention the sponsors of the protest noted that the EndSARS movement could be qualified as politically motivated. The governor further stated that the scrapping of SARS had dampened police morale and caused them to leave the streets , hence, giving room for hoodlums to have a field day.
Speaking on COVID-19, the governor maintained that the pandemic was nothing but a glorified malaria disease which had been used to siphon billions of naira. He recalled his claims that COVID-19 is political with an economic undertone.
The governor, who claimed to be the number one youth in Nigeria said his government had been handing out palliatives to residents of Kogi State long before COVID-19.
