Jussie Smollett is going to be facing a really long jail time if found guilty. In recent developments, he has been indicted on all 16 felony charges.
I know many of us aren’t into law, so lets go to law school shall we;
An indictment means, the prosecution has enough evidence to take the individual to court. I doesn’t mean he has been found guilty. If the indictment is approved, the grand jury will return a true bill, the prosecutor will bring the indictment to court.
Jussie has been facing legal and police trouble since January this year, over staged homophobic and racist attack.
It is said that he paid two Nigerian brothers Abel and Osa Osundiaro $3500, to attack him by pouring bleach on him, putting a noose around his neck and making some homophobic comments.
So far, Jussie maintains his innocence. Even going to the FOX Studio where the hit show ‘Empire’ is being filmed to affirm his innocence to is co-stars.
He will be facing up to 48 years in jail if found guilty.
