A few days after the talks about how a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode lambasted a Journalist in Calabar, members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom chapter have resolved to boycott a press conference planned by the ex-Minister.
In a statement on Friday, the union directed all journalists not to attend any activity organised by the former minister.
Earlier in a viral video, the former Minister, who is presently in Akwa Ibom state called a reporter, Eyo Charles stupid for asking him a question about who bankrolled his recent tour of some Southern states.
However, Fani-Kayode has come under heavy criticism for using such derogatory word on the Daily Times reporter.
Meanwhile, Fani Kayode has released a press statement in which he expressed regret for calling the reporter stupid, but many opined that he didn’t apologise but only explained what transpired and withdrew the word stupid.
Fani Kayode had in a tweet announced that he and his delegation arrived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom on Thursday night adding that he stayed over with the state Governor, Emmanuel Udom at the Government House.
The former Minister said he was proud of what Governor Udom has achieved in the state adding that he looks forward to seeing all his projects.
