Algeria and Leicester striker Islam Slimani has signed for French Ligue 1 side following his four-year contract with Leicester. The Algerian signed for the Franch side for free.
The 32-year-old, who joined the Leicester City for £29m way back 2016 in August would have been out of contract this summer if he did not leave the club.
Slimani scored 13 goals in 47 appearances for Leicester, he spent some time on loan with Newcastle United, Fenerbahce and AS Monaco. He was signed after the departure of former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, who joined Atletico Madrid from Lyon.
Islam Slimani has not had enough playing time with the English Premier League side. Leaving the club now is the best option for the Algerian as Leicester City looks very good.
Slimani has not made any start in the ongoing English Premier League, going to Lyon is a sure deal as he will be the top striker after there. During his loan spell at Ligue 1, he was among the eight nominated players who competed with Nigerian Victor Osimhen which he loss to Osimhen.
