Inter Milan did well to rise from a poor start to the resumption of the league as they thrashed Brescia 6-0. Ashley Young, Alexis Sanchez and Christian Eriksen all scored in the clash to ensure Inter Milan go pass Brescia to remain third in Serie A.
Ashley Young opened the scoring through a well-volleyed ball which went past the goalkeeper to put Inter ahead from a Sanchez cross and the Chilean scored a penalty after Victor Moses was fouled in the penalty box. Danilo D’Ambrosio headed home a cross from Young and Sanchez’s free-kick was nodded in by Roberto Gagliardini.
Eriksen scrambled home after Romelu Lukaku’s shot was saved and then set up Antonio Candreva for Inter’s sixth. Sanchez’s loan deal from Manchester United was extended until the end of the season, the clubs announced earlier in the day. Antonio Conte’s Inter remain third, eight points behind leaders Juventus, with Brescia dropping to bottom spot.
Inter Milan is doing everything possible to maintain their top-four hope so they can play in the next Champions League, from the look of things the league is no longer their and so the best they can do now is to fight for the top-form spot and prepare for next season.
