Independence Day wasn’t all celebration as Dr Timothy Olawale, the Director-General, DG of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, NECA, has finally given up the soul.
The message was contained in a statement issued by the Association to journalists in Lagos yesterday, noting that the DG is dead and that he passed on in a hospital located in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
“It is with deepest sadness that we announce the death of Dr Timothy Olawale, our director-general, which occurred on October 1 at a hospital in Abuja.”
The statement read in parts. According to NECA, Olawale has left behind his wife, children, and other relatives, adding that the Associations prayer goes to the family, urging God to grant every involved party the fortitude to bear the loss.
Although the cause of death has not been announced, NECA revealed it’s in close contact with the family to be abreast with the developments regarding the passing.
The late Olawale was confirmed as the substantive director-general of the NECA in January 2019 after six months in an acting capacity.
He succeeded Mr Segun Oshinowo, who retired in December 2018 after serving the Association for 19 years.
