Share

As a result of the present rise in cyber-crime, WhatsApp created the two-step verification feature to boost security on our accounts.

When you have two-step verification enabled, any attempt to hack your WhatsApp account will be futile.

To enable two-step verification for Android:

  1. Open WhatsApp
  2. Click on the three little dots at the top right corner of your screen
  3. Open Settings
  4. Tap Account
  5. Select Two-step verification
  6. Enable
  7. Set up your 6 digit pin
  8. Enter your email address
  9. Tap save
  10. All done!

To enable two-step verification for iPhone:

  1. Open WhatsApp
  2. Click on the gear icon at the lower-left corner of your screen to Open Settings
  3. Tap Account
  4. Select Two-step verification
  5. Enable
  6. Set up your 6 digit pin
  7. Enter your email address
  8. All done!

If you receive an email to disable two-step verification, but didn’t request this, don’t click on the link. Someone could be attempting to verify your phone number.

Note: To help you remember your PIN, WhatsApp will periodically ask you to enter your PIN. There is no option to disable this without disabling the two-step verification feature.
