How Bandits Abducted Emir of Kajuru, 10 Others

The Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, Muhammed Jalige, has confirmed that bandits abducted the Emir of Kajuru, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, alongside ten others.

According to the Police image-maker, bandits kidnapped the Monarch alongside members of his family and aides, including children and women, in the early hours of Sunday, July 11.

He explained that armed wielding bandits in large numbers invaded Kajuru town, shot sporadically and gained access into the Chief’s residence, abducted the Emir and ten members of his immediate family to an unknown destination.

According to him, the Joint patrol of the Police Mobile Force, conventional Police and the Nigerian Army attached to Kajuru LGA are currently engaged in search and rescue missions around the forest to rescue the Monarch and other victims.

He added that the Kaduna police command had contacted the IGP’s Tactical units for technical support.

Meanwhile, he urged residents to remain calm and always support the Police and other security agencies with credible information to curtail any possible attack on innocent citizens before it happened.

Reacting to the abduction of the Emir, a former Lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, described it as unfortunate. The former Senator disclosed that he visited the Bethel Baptist High School Kaduna to meet with the parents of the abducted students, describing it as a sad, unfortunate and tragic scene.
