Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has disclosed those he described as the sponsors of banditry in Nigeria and their reasons for the sponsorship.

Governor Uzodinma accused politicians of funding banditry to run down the Buhari-led administration. He revealed this while speaking with journalists after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.

The governor, who condemned the recent attacks by armed bandits, especially in the northern part of the country, challenged the security agencies to reveal the names of their sponsors urgently.

Uzodinma also condemned the call for secession, stressing that criminals, particularly in Imo, were a combination of individuals within and outside the state.

He told reporters that Nigerians needed to support the Federal Government to weed out sponsors of crisis and enemies of progress in the country.

According to him, the Buhari-led administration had fulfilled its promises since its inception about six years ago. He said the administration has delivered on providing infrastructure, jobs, and social interventions, among others.

Meanwhile, he noted that it was not out of place to criticise a government for not doing well. Uzodinma frowned at the idea of sponsoring bandits to bring rubbish the successes recorded by the ruling government.

Governor Uzodinma Reveals Nigerians Sponsoring Bandits a day after President Buhari held a meeting with Northern Governors.

President Buhari had on Thursday held a meeting with some Northern Governors led by Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari, the meeting revolved around the state of insecurity in Nigeria, particularly the Northern region.
