Germany Flood: At least 20 dead (Photos)

The Germany Flood has left at least 20 people dead, with over 70 missing. Buildings have been destroyed, and homes and cars swept away.

Four people have been confirmed to have died overnight in Schuld. The flood swept away six homes, while another four were found dead in flooded cellars across North Rhine-Westphalia.

Among those dead are two firefighters; in Altena’s town, one of the firefighters drowned trying to rescue people. The other firefighter died during rescue operations at a power plant in Werdohl-Elverlingsen.

Flooding causes Chaos

According to a report, one person died in the town of Rheinbach. The exact cause of their death is unclear.

Two men, aged 77 and 82, died after their houses’ basements were flooded in the western cities of Kamen and Wuppertal, where authorities warned that a dam could burst.

The flood has made people abandon their homes.
