Garba Shehu Reveals How COVID-19 Affects Buhari

Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity has revealed that the President will not be hosting the usual Christmas homage by religious and community leaders in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

According to Shehu, the decision not to host the homage was in line with the prevailing protocol put in place by the Presidential Task Force, PTF on COVID-19, restricting large gatherings.

He noted that President Buhari urged all citizens to observe social distancing, use face masks, wash hands frequently, and avoid overcrowding of public spaces, markets, and places of worship in line with the prescribed COVID-19 protocols.

The President also appealed to citizens to discourage all non-essential travels during the holiday season.

Everyevery.ng had earlier reported that the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC has revealed that individuals aged above 50 years or with critical medical conditions have a higher risk of COVID-19 complications.

The Agency also warned Nigerians to avoid contact with anyone who is showing symptoms of COVID-19, Non-essential outings, and also shun Large gatherings and crowded spaces.

NCDC added that COVID-19 Complications affects people differently depending on age and underlying health status.
