Currently, there is a lot of bad news flying around the internet which a lot of Nigerians have reacted to. Nollywood actress and comedian, Funke Akindele has joined the numerous Nigerians crying out over the brutal killing and raping of young girls which have been trending on social media.
Here is what she wrote
“Fed up! I am so worried! Which way”.
Funke added that the recent killings, chaos, confusion, corruption, unemployment is making people live in fear.
Recall that few hours ago, a young girl identified as Uwaila Omozuwa, an undergraduate from the University of Benin in Edo state was reported to have been raped and brutally killed by her rapists. According to reports, the young girl went to read in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Miracle Sanctuary Mega Parish, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City on 27 the May 2020.
It was gathered that the men who raped her, struck her head with a fire extinguisher. By the time she was rushed to the hospital, she gave up the ghost.
In the same vein, another 12-year-old girl in Jigawa was raped by 11 men. Aside from that, a 16-year-old girl was also hit by a stray bullet by the Nigerian Police.
All these must have summed up Funke Akindele’s frustration and she decided to speak out.
Pastor Adeboye also took to his Twitter account to react to the terrible incidents. The pastor condemned the action and promised that he would work with authorities to ensure the culprits are brought to book.
