President Muhammadu Buhari has concluded plans to give his assent to the Electoral Bill as soon as possible and may even sign the document within the space of thirty days.
FemiAdesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, revealed the long-awaited information while fielding questions on a live television interview programme on Tuesday.
He pointed out that the President is bound to attend to the document in just a matter of hours, more-less, he stressed that it could even happen today or tomorrow, but within a month.
“It could be today, it could be tomorrow, it could be anytime, but within the 30 days. In a matter of hours, not days. Hours could be 24 hours, could be 48 hours; not days, not weeks.” He revealed.
His Special Adviser initially explained that there are some vested interests and some cheap political tactics deployed by some persons to make it seem like Buhari is delaying the signing process.
As contained in the statement Adesina issued, ‘Assent To Electoral Bill: No Need For Saber Ratling,’ he explained that some political divides are cashing in on the perceived delay to cause civil disorder.
Also, he pointed out that the President still has enough time to assent to the Bill that he said has to be thoroughly scrutinised and made as near-perfect as possible.
