COVID-19: FG Unveils Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions

The Federal Government has on Friday announced non-pharmaceutical interventions to kick against the resurgence of the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19 in the country.

According to the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who disclosed this, the interventions were announced at the just-concluded National Economic Council, NEC meeting.

The Council advised Nigerians to avoid physical gatherings and opt for virtual meetings whenever possible.

Meanwhile, in cases of physical gatherings, Nigerians were advised to ensure that there is adequate ventilation of the room, limit the number of attendees, wear face masks and maintain a physical distance of at least two metres.

The council opined that temperature checks must be carried out on all employees and customers entering office and business premises.

It added that all offices and business premises must have a handwashing station with running water and soap or hand sanitizer at the entrance.

Meanwhile, Osinbajo expressed concerns about the resurgence of COVID-19 as he also advised Nigerians to take the interventions seriously.

Reacting to the release of the abducted Kankara School Boys, the Vice President expressed delight that the kidnapped students of Government Science Secondary School in Kankara are free.

He reiterated that the Buhari-led administration will continue to work hard at protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians at all times.
