On Friday, the Police deployed hundreds of officers and assets that will guard strategic locations in Lagos.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the spokesman for the Lagos State police command, said the show of force was a warning signal to whoever or any group of persons planning to stage any procession or foment troubles in the state.

The Lagos Police command, the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, and Department of State Services have put measures in place to prevent any act of lawlessness in the state.

The command said Lagos State could not afford to record and experience the violence orchestrated by some individuals during the 2020 EndSARS protest, leading to massive destruction of lives and properties in the state.

The command vowed to deal with anyone caught participating or facilitating the so-called mega rally in Lagos State.
