Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage and Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles were in a war of words on social media following Tiwa Savage’s post on Instagram.

Recall that the Nigerian music diva called out her American colleague, Beyonce for not speaking up for the recent #ENDSARS protest. This got many other Nigerians to drag the award-winning singer, Beyonce, for using African arts but not responding to issues concerning the Black continent.

Beyonce’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure responded to Tiwa’s post that posts don’t make an activist and that people’s action shpuldn’t be judged based on posts.

Tina Knowles, mother of Beyonce, also took time to reply Tiwa Savage in a lengthy Instagram post. She stated in her post that she got to know about SARS very late because she has been checking social media lately.

Having known about SARS and their activities which have made Nigerians to protest, the artiste’ mother endorsed the movement and was quick to support her daughter and her craft concerning Africa/Black people.

In her words, “She makes a record and uses All African artists, producers, writers. She is criticized because she didn’t get artist from every country in Africa there are 52 countries! Then she makes a film that by the way she doesn’t profit a penny off of, because she spent every penny in the budget on making something that celebrates our heritage”

What profiting off of you did she do? She made art!! She is an artist! That is what artist do. She is not your political leader and not your whipping board. They saw a 30 second trailer and critics and couch activist attacked!!! yes I said it and I meant it!

“And it is disgusting how people sit behind a computer and talk crap all day and many of them do absolutely nothing else….” she added.

In reaction to the lengthy post by Beyonce’s mom, Tiwa Savage commented on an article by a blogger on the issue and wrote, “All of us get mothers o”
