Nigeria celebrity journalist Dele Momodu has declared his ambition to run for the presidential seat come 2023.

The CEO and publisher of Ovation Magazine have joined the race for 2023 after meeting the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ayorchia Ayu, to express his interest.

He met with the party chairman at the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja while promising to fix the country.

Dele Momodu was a former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP) in the 2011 election and defects to the PDP in October 2021.

Momodu noted that he is now better prepared to run than his first time and won’t be intimidated by anyone who wants to buy their way with loads of cash fraudulently.

He said, “After due consultations with my family, friends and stakeholders, I have decided to contest the 2023 presidential election on the platform of our great party, PDP…”

Momodu declared his intentions while noting that he received support, advice, and encouragement from various quarters though it was his personal decision.

The 61-year-old publisher urged the party not to pick its candidate based on the usual consideration that has failed the party in time past.

He announced that the time has come to challenge and change politicians who have held the country to ransom by destroying the future of the younger generations.
