Comedian, DeGeneral, and the case filed against him by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has finally been concluded.
Fortunately for the skit comedian whose real name is Joshua Sunday, a Lagos State Federal High Court dismissed the drug trafficking charges filed against him and declared that he was free to go.
Yesterday, the NDLEA officials arraigned the social media influencer together with his friend, Caleb William, a cinematographer, before Justice Daniel Osiagor, presented a case of drug trafficking.
However, the judge, on hearing the testimonies of the defendants, noted that the volume of substance recovered was minimal for which he would not convict but sound a stern warning.
Also, all attempts by the prosecutor to convince the judge of granting a full conviction to the defendants since they pleaded guilty proved futile.
The Anti-Drug Agency presented the section that contains the law through which the court could punish the accused.
The law, according to the prosecutor is stipulated by section 356(2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015, having pleaded guilty to the charge.
Notwithstanding, Justice Osiagor declined to sentence the convicts and cautioned them ‘to go and sin no more.’
