Famous Nigerian Comedian and skit maker Abdulgafar Ahmad, famously called Cute Abiola, is serving one month of punishment after his release from detention.
Cute Abiola, a Navy Personnel, was declared missing by his comedian colleague Debo ‘Mr Macaroni’ on November 15, 2021, before the Nigerian Navy refutes the publication stating that he was in detention for violating armed forced social media policy.
Ahmad, who was said to have posted a video of himself in military uniform on social media, which is a violation of armed forces ethics, was released from detention but will serve a light corrective punishment for one month in the cantonment.
25-year-old Ahmad is expected to finish his punishment by December 15, 2021, after which he can head home to his family.
On Friday, Spokesperson to the Navy Commodore Suleman Dahun, confirmed that Cute Abiola has been released from detention and can move around while serving his punishment.
He said, “Cute Abiola has been placed on one-month extra duty after he was tried. He will be in charge of the cleanship, supervising painting, electricians, carpentry, cutting of grasses, and others. He will be supervising civilians.”
A military source also confirmed that an extra duty means that the comedian will be the “Minister of Works in the Barracks” for the period of the punishment.
