Couple In Police Net For Torturing 8-Year-Old Maid Over N10 Lollipop
A Nigerian couple has been arrested by police officers in Ebonyi state for allegedly chaining their house help and leaving her under the scorching sun as punishment.
The couple identified as Agatha Iboko, who is a Corp member serving with the Ebonyi state ministry of Agriculture and Phillip Iboko tied their eight-year-old house girl identified as Osinachi Iboko after she took a part of the N10 naira candy they had gotten for their two-year-old daughter.
Luckily for young Osinachi, a neighbour who had been watching recorded the incident and she was heard chastising the couple over their act of wickedness towards their house help, repeating several times that it is child abuse and posted it online. The video showed Osinachi Iboko bound at her hand and legs and kept under the hot sun while onlookers made comments.
Two of the couple’s neighbours, Mr Raymond and Mr Chinedu, intervened in the case and after much pleading, the girl was released to one Chief Paul Nwogha the council chairman of the Izzi Local Government Area of the state
