Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that Edinson Cavani is currently not happy with the present performance of Cristiano Ronaldo. He also said Edinson Cavani appears to have been relegated after losing his jersey number 7 shirt to Ronaldo before the start of the new Premier League season.
The Portuguese international has scored three goals in his two appearances for Manchester United in all competitions. He scored two goals in the Premier League against Newcastle and one in the Champions League against Young Boys. However, in an interview with Betfair, Berbatov said Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to intervene to resolve an internal crisis in the team.
According to Dimitar Berbatov, he said: “Cavani is not happy. He had a tremendous first season at [Manchester] United, and now see how his role has dropped, and he’s lost the number 7… I hope Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] has had an honest conversation with Cavani about his plans for the team.”
“As a player, in this situation, you understand that the coach’s job is to choose the best team. But you always want to play and feel unhappy when you don’t, and they leave you out.”
