A passenger in a Mazda vehicle coming from Abeokuta to Ajah Lagos has been crushed to death while on a video call. According to an eye witness report, the deceased got down from the car he was travelling in when the driver parked beside the road as a result of fuel shortage.
As the driver of the commercial vehicle went to source for petrol, the deceased decided to come down from the car and cross to the other side of Shagamu expressway. By the time the driver returned and was ready to continue the journey, the deceased proceeded to join the car by crossing the road. This led to the unfortunate incident as he was on a video call at the time and could not see the Honda Odessey vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
He died on the spot from the impact of the hit and the driver of the Honda Odessey escaped from the scene.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue at General Hospital, Ijaiye Abeokuta.
