Nigerian Exchange Limited, NGX, will, on Wednesday, May 12, hold its regular capacity building training to empower businesses in the country.
A communique from NGX issued on Tuesday 12, via its Twitter platform, stated that the capacity building program would enhance knowledge of capital market players.
In the recent past, NGX, a subsidiary of NGX Group Plc, hosted several virtual training sessions across multiple asset classes, including training on equities, fixed income, derivatives trading and Exchange Trading Funds, ETFs.
The capacity building training is captioned, “Transforming Growth: The Emergence Of New Equities And Derivatives Market Participants Across Continents.”
EveryEvery.ng learnt that areas to be explored during the workshop cut across the role of markets, trends in capital allocation, and other topics.
The capacity building will feature keynote speakers like the divisional head, trading business, NGX Ltd, Jude Chiemeke, Ade Cordell, President, CBOE Global Markets, to mention a few.
On a separate note, the Nigerian Exchange Ltd will host a “Derivatives Certification Training For Settlement And Compliance Officers” from June 1 – 4.
In parts of the communique, NGX proposed to host several other capacity building training, stating that such programs in the past provided efficient and liquid markets for investors and businesses in Africa.
An instance given was the Osun State N10 billion Ijara Sukuk Fund in 2013, which according to the statement, provided an appetite for increasing ethical finance in Nigeria.
Part of the success stories recorded were the “three Sukuk issuances with a total of N350 billion by the Federal Government from 2018 till date, and was largely oversubscribed.” The communique read in parts.
