Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor Broda Shaggi has opened up about a frightening experience that kept him away from the public for several months, leaving fans worried about his health and career.
The entertainer, whose real name is Samuel Animashaun Perry, shared his experience in a video posted on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
According to him, the incident happened on March 9, 2026, after he finished a work engagement around the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State. While returning from the event, he heard a loud sound and suddenly realised he was bleeding. It was then he discovered that a stray bullet had struck him around his hip.
Broda Shaggi said he was frightened and began praying for his life as he was rushed to the hospital. He later underwent surgery in Nigeria, but the injury affected his ability to move his leg.
The comedian admitted that he became emotional during his recovery because he was unsure whether he would ever dance, act or perform again. He also worried that his fans might forget him while he stayed away from making skits.
After spending months recovering, he travelled to Dubai for further surgery after his first operation did not fully restore movement to his injured leg.
Sharing an update on his condition, Broda Shaggi revealed that he can now stand without crutches but still needs them for support as he continues to recover.
Despite the difficult experience, the entertainer expressed gratitude for surviving the incident, describing his recovery as a second chance at life.
He also assured fans that he is preparing exciting new projects and looks forward to returning to their screens.
