Leicester City head coach Brendan Rodgers says Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will not be in action for the club again till the end of the season due to his knee injury. Rodgers disclosed this during his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Brendan Rodgers says Ndidi is out of the season with Injury

Wilfred Ndidi came off during Leicester City’s second leg clash with Rennes in the UEFA Europa Conference League in mid-March and has since had surgery. He missed Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying playoffs against Ghana both the home and the away games. The manager said: “Wilfred Ndidi unfortunately will be out for the season, it’s a shame for us but he’ll get ready for next season. It’s unfortunate,” Rodgers said.

The manager also said: “He’s been a brilliant player for me in my time here. He picked up a nasty injury that he’s had to have surgery on and he’ll recover now until June.” He concluded by saying Papy Mendy will cover up for the Super Eagles player. Brendan Rodgers said the Senegalese (Mendy) has been great since his arrival to the club.
