The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has raised the alarm over what he described as an attempt by some criminal elements to dupe unsuspecting Nigerians through fake federal government appointments.
In a statement signed by Willie Bassey, the Director, information, office of the Secretary to the government of the federation, Mustapha noted that the criminal elements are circulating false information on social media through texts, emails and other means.
According to Mustapha, the false messages want Nigerians to submit their curriculum vitae at a fee to facilitate their selection for federal government appointments.
He added that the fraudsters are desperate to the extent that they resort to sending fake advertisements to supply medical diagnostic equipment for his office.
Mustapha urged the general public to disregard such information, adding that his office did not advertise for the procurement of medical diagnostic equipment.
However, he warned those behind such messages to desist or be ready to face the full wrath of the law in due time.
Fake job advertisements have become so rampant in Nigeria because of the high level of unemployment in the country. Unfortunately, some criminal elements are hiding under the guise of such advertisements to defraud people.
