Biola Kila (Episode 36): Beautiful James, Ugly Behaviour

James Okafor was five feet eight but what he didn’t have in height he had in everything else. An intelligent brain, good manners, and a very handsome face… looking at his face and how his pink lips moved while he talked was good enough to make anyone have a good day.

Every single lady in the school had a romantic interest in James even married women had secret desires for him but the only girl he had eyes for was Biola Kila. Biola was aware of his smoldering charisma, she was also aware of all the women falling for him to pick them up just to feel his hand on their skin but she was interested.

She didn’t want anything to do with any man “not for the next two years”  she told herself but as time went on she came to terms with the fact that even though she was sworn off men it didn’t mean that they were not going to leave her alone.

Her rejection made James crazier about her and he studied her to the point that he knew all that she liked and despised; he even knew how to start a conversation with her, the type of conversation that would make her forget she had been talking to him for an hour.

But every time she came back to her senses her answer to his proposal was “no” this continued until Joyce encouraged her to give it a try “even if it’s only a date just go, make the date his worst date ever and he will never call you again” it seemed like a good idea but unfortunately for her James was two steps ahead of her and that first date was the first of many dates and soon enough she was officially his girlfriend.

It was refreshing dating a simple guy with a decent job, James was not as wealthy as Seyi but he was easy to be with and she was extremely happy. With the new job, new boyfriend and friends she was ready to move permanently to Abuja; just for her to see James having sex with Joyce in a car parked in a dejected car park close to the school. She was there to smoke but she got more than a cigarette.

For weeks Biola was quiet about what she had seen but watched them carefully. She thought about quitting her job and going back to Lagos but she thought about Sis. Aloysius who for some reason desperately wanted her in Abuja.

So she decided to forgive them and break up with James without making a fuss about it but Biola Kila can never forgive, no matter how hard she tried to.

One evening after work she was exhausted, both physically and emotionally especially after putting up fake smiles and friendly conversations with James and Joyce that she decided to go to a small bar nearby. But she arrived to the presence of James and Joyce making out in a corner; this made her anger get to the point of no return.

The next day Biola invited herself to Joyce’s house, she also invited James, she told them that she had just learnt how to make egusi soup and she wanted them to taste and grade her soup. When she arrived, they were already in the house and she proceeded to cook while they kissed at every chance they got thinking that she had no idea what was going on.

“Dinner is served” Biola announced as she served them. They ate quickly “yum… this is very nice, you are a very good cook babe” James commented truthfully “yes you are” Joyce concurred “thanks” “why aren’t you eating anyway?” James asked almost ignoring the answer “you know that feeling you get when you cook, you don’t feel like eating” they nodding digging further into their meals.

Biola continued “it feels like your stomach has been tied as if you saw something terrible, something like … geez I don’t know… something like seeing your boyfriend kissing your beloved friend at a bar” the food suddenly stopped in their throats. Joyce tried to swallow her food but James was about to throw up “what are you talking about?” Joyce tried to be casual but Biola could see that she was already breaking a sweat.

“I mean that yesterday I went to that small bar close to the school and I saw both of you making out like teenagers” Biola’s eyes were as wicked as ever and that stifled James with fear “I don’t know what you are talking about” Joyce was brave enough to keep denying “oh! You don’t know what I’m talking about… okay” Biola took out her phone, set her timer to two minutes and placed it on the table

“What’s this?” James gathered himself enough to ask “in two minutes, you both will know what I am talking about” “Jesus! Christ! You poisoned us?!” James was on his feet shaking like a goat being led to the slaughter hall and Joyce followed suit but noticed her legs could not move. The more she tried the more they gave in.

Biola laughed “yes I did. I hope you enjoyed your meal” Joyce collapsed on the ground unable to move any muscle in her body and James screamed trying desperately to help her “how could you do this Biola? It was only sex it meant nothing”

“let’s see how you will fuck a paralyzed woman” “I am going to call the police, you cannot get away with this” he growled desperately and she laughed at him “let me show you where the police reside” she retorted showing him her palm. She had never looked more evil as she walked out of the house leaving the door open as if she wanted the people passing by to see what she had done.

James watched her leave in horror, he couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed, so he began to throw up profusely fainting in his vomit like a drunkard who had had his final drink. They laid there on the floor with no savior hoping that the prayers of their mothers would save them from what Biola had just done to them.
