The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has received a huge backlash from Prof Kemi Rotimi, History Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Prof Rotimi criticized the Union for embarking on strikes with the proper consultations and motive, adding that the leadership recklessly calls for a halt in all academic activities.
The Historian expressed his grievances with the Union while fielding questions from presenters on a live television interview, on Thursday 17, 2022.
Without any apology, he argued that the Union should find other alternative means to projects its plights to the Federal Government and avoid dropping tools anytime their demands fail to appear at the appropriate time.
He pointed out the area where students have to forfeit valued times of their lives to sit at home and become vices in the hands of the evil-minded beings out there.
The Lecturer cautioned ASUU to desist from seeing an industrial action as the answer to every disagreement between their faction and that of the government.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government initially released funds running into billions to the Union and doesn’t understand why the sudden decision to embark on another academic setback.
