Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been listed among the possible persons to take over the coaching at Barcelona. According to reports, he is on Joan Laporta’s shortlist to take charge at the club.

The La Liga giant will soon hold presidential elections, and Laporta is among the favourites to be voted into power for a second stint. Laporta is aiming at bringing the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as a replacement for Ronald Koeman.

The Dutchman joined the club after removing ex-president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the sack of Quique Setien, who claims the Catalans have not informed him yet about his sack.

Laporta Wants Arteta to Coach Barca

A new president is set to appoint their own man, and Catalan radio reports that Laporta, who brought Guardiola to the club, is likely to bring Arteta should he win the election.

The Spaniard is not the only coach to be appointed, former Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez is also on the list, but the player says he does not want to return this summer.

Arsenal boss helped his team come from the midpoint of the table finish in the seventh-place position last season, and he also helped them won the English F.A. Cup. He has so far won the F.A. Cup and the Community Shield for Arsenal since his arrival.
