English Premier League top side Arsenal reportedly keeps a close eye on former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte as Mikel Arteta’s replacement. The manager is the head coach of Inter Milan and is most likely the manager will the Italian Serie A soon.
Mikel Arteta started the 2021/22 English Premier League season badly as they lost to newly-promoted English Premier League Brentford 2-0. He steered Arsenal to a record-extending 14th FA Cup triumph during his first half-season in charge, but the Spaniard could only lead the Gunners to an eighth-place finish in last season’s Premier League.
According to reports, the North London club will consider a swoop for Conte should Arteta be relieved of his duties, and the Italian would be keen to bring Lautaro Martinez to the Emirates with him. Conte managed Chelsea in the 2016-17 Premier League, helped win the league, and led Inter to the Scudetto the last term.
After Friday’s defeat at Brentford, Arteta apologised to Arsenal fans. He has won 47 of his 87 games in charge of the Gunners, losing 24 and drawing the other 16.
