Mary Daniel, the famous or infamous amputee hawker who has been in the spotlight for a while, has tendered her apologies to Nigerians after reports revealed that she had not been candid with her sympathetic story.

Amputee hawker Mary Daniel pleads for forgiveness

According to Mary’s story, she lost her leg in an accident that ended the life of all the passengers in the vehicle, including her parents.

However, new reports claimed that she staged her presence and sudden visibility at Oshodi and that there was no accident, as she had been amputated from birth.

The amputee hawker has now said that her story was not staged because she had been hawking water despite her condition because she would rather work than beg for alms.

She also claimed that she had been receiving ‘strange calls’ from her maternal grandmother, who was blackmailing her for money.

In her words, “Nigerians should forgive me. People that stay on the streets and in noisy places, they hardly have a settled mind and I said my father is late so Nigerians can help me. I made a big mistake; Nigerians should please forgive me.”
