Nollywood has again outdone itself, as it successfully made no fewer than five hundred and forty one films in just three months which sounds more like a new record compared to its overwhelming productions in recent past.

Confirming the achievement, the National Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, says the board received and censored 541 movies produced by the Nigerian film industry in the first quarter of 2022.

According to a statement issued by board, the Executive Director of NFVCB, Adebayo Thomas, today in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, he revealed that Nollywood’s figure was made available by the Department of Film Censorship and Classification of the board in its First Quarter Report of the year.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director stated that the report captured all films submitted to the board from across the country with estimations made from the first three months of the year, which was also thoroughly researched and summarised.

Mr Thomas said hinted that the report would be submitted to relevant Federal Government authority for the compilation of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP, for the first quarter, GDP, Q1, 2022.
