Oluwo of Iwo and Alaafin of Oyo
Yoruba Monarchs, Alaafin of Oyo and the Oluwo of Iwoland have warned Nigerians against making inflammatory statements.
The Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and Oluwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi cautioned against statements that could ignite an ethnoreligious crisis in Nigeria.
According to the Monarchs, Nigerians should avoid statements or acts that could fan the embers of discord. They described hate speech as an agent of provocateur to insecurity anywhere in the world.
The Monarchs noted that inflammatory statements are susceptible to war if not contained in a multi-cultural country like Nigeria with different diverse ethnic settings.
Meanwhile, the traditional rulers stated that the government is saddled with the responsibility of protecting lives and property and should do everything in its power to prosecute criminals and bandits.
The Monarchs further urged Nigerians to bury their differences, embrace peace, live in harmony and shun hate comments.
However, they both called on traditional rulers, security agencies and government to work together to protect their people.
In another development, Everyevery.ng had reported that agitators of the Oduduwa Nation had unveiled Security Force, Code Named Operation Paramole Awọn ẹṣọ Oludaabo ilẹ Ooduwa.
In a tweet by the Yoruba Nation, the security force’s first batch is from Ogun State.
