For the umpteenth time, Nigerians have taken to social media platforms to call out Remi Tinubu, wife of the former Lagos State Governor, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Many social media users dragged Remi Tinubu over a statement credited to her during an event where she referred to a woman as a thug.
In a viral video, the Lawmaker told the woman that they don’t want thugs at the South West Zonal Constitution review public hearing held in Lagos State, a statement that resulted in a heated argument between Tinubu and the woman, who described the Lawmaker’s approach as disrespectful.
However, many people present during the argument faulted the choice of word Tinubu used on the woman and demanded that she apologise. In her response, the woman noted that she is not a thug but a representative at the public hearing.
Reacting to the viral video, many Nigerians on social media platforms noted that Remi Tinubu has again displayed her rude character, adding that she had in the past portrayed herself as someone who is not fit to be an officeholder.
A tweep @Ojekunle_Bisi described Remi Tinubu as a liability to the ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for calling a fellow woman a thug. He recalled that Tinubu had in the past had issues with Former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
The tweep added that the Lawmaker also fought former Senator Dino Melaye, called Senator Smart Adeyemi a wolf in sheep’s clothing and described Igbo people as untrustworthy.
Another tweep, @FS_Yusuf, said above everything he wishes never to happen is Tinubu becoming Nigerian First Lady. The tweep noted that he prefers a merely caring Patience Jonathan or an Aisha Buhari who was bold to speak to inside powers.
He further compared Remi Tinubu to an asteroid that should never hit Nigeria.
Also, among many others who criticized the Lawmaker’s utterances, another tweep, @Bube_Aji, said Remi Tinubu being the first lady of Nigeria would be a national disaster.
