20 Herders Get Political Appointment

Despite reports linking criminal activities to some Fulani herders in parts of Nigeria, herders numbering twenty have gotten political appointments in Zamfara State.

EveryEvery.ng gathered that Hajiya Aisha Matawalle, the State governor’s wife, secured the appointments for the herders, who are members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN.

According to a statement issued by Zainab Abdullahi, the Press Secretary to the Governor’s Wife, the herders were appointed as Special Assistants to Governor Matawalle.

The governor’s wife, who presented the appointment letters to the beneficiaries assured them of a sustainable working relationship with MACBAN.

Hajiya Matawalle noted that the appointment aims to appreciate MACBAN for promoting peace and unity in Zamfara state, adding that the beneficiaries comprised women and men.

Herders Get Political Appointment

The Zamfara State Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Tukur Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, lauded Hajiya Matawalle for her efforts in making meaningful change to Fulanis and other members of the community.

He further expressed immense appreciation to Governor Matawalle for his support to the Fulanis and for involving them in his administration.

However, Abubakar assured the governor that MACBAN would continue to give its maximum support and co-operation towards the state’s development.
