Zoom App Encounters Setback In US, UK Others
The company in charge of the video conferencing application, Zoom App has confirmed that it has received reports of users being unable to visit the Zoom website (zoom.us).
It stated that some of the app users were unable to start and join Zoom Meetings and Webinars adding that it was investigating the cause as it also promised to provide updates as regards the development.
In a tweet, the company said it has identified the issue and are working on fixing it.
The tweet reads “If you’re having trouble connecting to Zoom, we have identified the issue and are working on a fix. Please follow status.zoom.us for updates. We’re so sorry about the inconvenience.”
It was gathered that the app is down in some parts of the world as the problem seems to be affecting those in the East Coast in the United States.
Also, glance at Down Detector, which tracks internet outages, show that users in the United Kingdom were experiencing the same issues.
Though it was created as a business communication tool nearly a decade ago, Zoom became popular at the beginning of the year 2020, as millions of people in lockdown began using it to host events ranging from birthday parties to religious events, cabinet meetings among others.
