A YouTuber, Israel Balogun, has reportedly landed in the police net for calling out the General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

Balogun’s arrest is coming a few days after Apostle Suleman told those insulting and criticizing him on social media platforms to pay him for doing so.

EveryEvery.ng gathered that the Police Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Abuja detained the YouTuber over alleged criminal defamation and cyberstalking.

The FCT police reportedly interrogated Balogun for about four hours and detained him after stringent bail conditions.

Balogun had posted a video on his Youtube channel where he showed clips of Apostle Suleman declaring to his congregation that angels would deposit money into their bank accounts during ministrations in Atlanta, United States, and Auchi, Edo State.

The YouTuber’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, said the police asked Balogun to provide two sureties with landed property and certificate of ownership in the FCT, and a Level 14 civil servant with either a letter of last employment or letter of introduction.

Meanwhile, the legal counsel to Apostle Suleman, Samuel Amune, has clarified reports making the rounds over the arrest of the Youtuber. He noted that Balogun went beyond the ambit of the law in ventilating his view in the video he posted on various social media platforms.

Apostle Suleman’s counsel said the clergyman has no problem with the Youtuber expressing his view but said he should have done so within the confine of the laws.

Amune further accused the Youtuber of portraying his client as a criminal, a bandit, a magician and a fraudster who connives with some of his church members to engage in frauds. The lawyer stated that Apostle Suleman considered the video posted by the Youtuber as baseless, untrue, defamatory and misleading.
